A good wedding photographer should be more than competent with a camera and the equipment, and should have made a healthy investment in this to give you the best possible pictures. This should really go without saying, but it’s worth asking what they have – the answers may mean nothing to you unless you are a camera buff but you’ll see if they know what they are talking about.
A good wedding photographer should have some creativeness about what he does. He shouldn’t just be there to point and click to make sure he gets everybody in. Each picture should be thought about and his artistic eye make a good picture from a larger scene.
I always discuss all of the elements of the wedding day down to the detail I need to make sure I can take all of the pictures they would like no matter what happens. We discuss style and the look they like. I always take lots of examples so I can make sure we are a good fit.
Any good wedding photographer in Surrey will have a good backlog of pictures he can show you of actual weddings. They should be able to discuss with you how they worked with the couples in those photographs to reach the desired effect. Beware if the bride and groom seemed to have no input into their wedding album.
The best wedding photographers in Surrey should be happy to show you examples of real photos they have taken of real weddings. If they are new to wedding photography then they should have a VERY impressive portfolio of work, ideally of people.
Look at their photos and then ask yourself: Do you feel that you were there? Were you emotionally moved by the pictures? Before you pay a deposit, make sure you meet up with the photographer in order that you see their work in the flesh. Was the presentation and print quality to the standard that you are happy with?
